Online Ed.D. of Leadership in Higher Education
The online Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) of Leadership in Higher Education is designed to provide the skills and experience required for success in the rapidly changing world of higher education administration. Completed in as little as 39 months, students in this program gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities to identify critical issues facing today’s higher education institutions and to examine and define approaches to comprehensively address those challenges.
Accelerated, Online Program
The online Ed.D. of Leadership in Higher Education can be completed in 39 months while working full-time. While coursework and assignments are completed online, students are encouraged to interact with faculty and network with classmates via interactive learning sessions, assignments, discussions, and projects. One residency brings students together to launch the cohort and learn about the Action Research Project.
Unique Student Experience
The online graduate experience is dynamic and engaging, including both synchronous and asynchronous activities. Small classes provide increased engagement with each other and your professors in a highly interactive online course format. With the support of a faculty supervisor/mentor, students will engage in an Action Research Project that addresses a problem of practice through a reflective process of systematic inquiry.
Critical Skills for an Evolving Field
There is significant growth in demand for leaders in higher education as well as leadership and training organizations. Also, the complexity of jobs in higher education administration is increasing due to new student populations, an increase in the number of first-generation college graduates, greater emphasis on university profitability, and increased scrutiny on outcomes.
In-Demand Career Path
The career outlook for post-secondary education administrators is strong, with faster than average growth (10%) compared to other professions, and a national median salary of $90,760 (BLS, 2018). This means that 18,200 new jobs will be created and need skilled professionals to advance these institutions.
The online Ed.D. of Leadership in Higher Education is a 60-credit hour program, designed to be completed in 39 months while working full time.
